Hi everyone! February is is always one of my favourite months. Not only does my birthday fall on the 5th but I also seem to get a lot of reading done. In between nine books this month I’ve also made some great progress in my undergraduate dissertation!
My reading fell into three distinct categories for February. Books in my general TBR that I wanted to read: Take A Hint, Dani Brown, Insatiable and All Men Must Die. Next, where the bulk of my reading came from, was books I needed to read for university: Richard III, Women Beware Women, The Adventures of Master F.J, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and The Long Song. Finally, I read Jane Eyre for the ‘Let’s Get Classical Book Club’ pick of the month (and I actually participated in the discussion finally so go me!).
Overall I feel that I had a good reading month despite not managing to read a 5 star book and some of the books for university being so difficult (and slightly boring) to get through:
- Take A Hint, Dani Brown- 4.75 stars
- Richard III- 2 stars
- Insatiable- 3 stars
- Women Beware Women- 3 stars
- All Men Must Die- 2.5 stars
- The Adventures of Master F.J- 0.25 stars (I hope to never come across this text ever again)
- The Merry Wives of Windsor- 3 stars
- The Long Song- 4.75 stars
- Jane Eyre- 4.75 stars
What I’ve loved about keeping track of my reading on The Story Graph is the ability to rate stars in 0.25 increments. This makes it much easier to give books half star ratings, something which I do often (clearly). Also thanks to The Story Graph I can keep a track of the amount of pages I’ve read each month. So in February I managed to read a total of 2,658 pages! I am currently 34% of the way through my reading challenge total with 17/50 books read but I feel confident at the moment that I might be able to get that done and more!
I hope everyone had a great reading month in February and are looking forward to March! I’ve already finished my first read of the month- These Violent Delights and (spoiler alert!) it was a 5 star read so March is off to a great start. I’m hoping to read Klara and the Sun as well as Chain of Iron in March. I’ll also be reading Sea of Poppies for university so hopefully I enjoy that more than some of the other university content I’ve read recently!
That’s great to hear you had a successful month, Allie! Hope March is good too, and all the best with your dissertation 😊
